Hi, me again, a day later than usual— you likely didn’t noticed but I’m trying to send these on Thursdays.
Anyways, I come today with a brilliant (at least according to moi), recently discovered hack.
If you’re an audio book bod, and have an Audible subscription, did you know you can return books?! Freeing up the credit to be used again?!
This renders your audible subscription into a kind of library card of sorts.
Pretty cool, heh.
Anyways, here’s how you do it lads/ladies/theydies:
Go to the audible website on your device and sign into your account.
Tap Menu > My Account > Purchase History.
Look for the book you want to return.
Tap the book, then tap Return this title.
Select your reason for return, then tap Return.
If you get hand-wringy about whether or not audiobook consumption constitutes real reading, I suggest you give this Wired piece a read.
Up-shot of it is: ignore the knicker-twisting and do what works for you, but be selective with what you read/listen to. I.e. if your mind drifts while listening, maybe the book isn’t so great.
I personally, like to do combo job of audiobook, Kindle and analog (you know, a real book with pages). It has meant a net+ gain on the number of books I’ve been able to enjoy and that’s nothing to sneeze at.
This is BRILLIANT! When people say 'hack' social media, it's normally in the form of shoving a pickle in a chicken nugget, thank you for a brilliantly useful and legitimate HACK!
